Meet The Instuctor

Kimberly Cunningham attended the Southeastern School of Cosmetology in Midfield, Alabama, and completed the Cosmetology program in 2004. She passed the written and practical exam in Montgomery through the Alabama Board of Cosmetology and Barbering. Kimberly started her career at SmartStyle Family Salon inside of Wal-Mart and built her clientele. Later, she was able to open her own salon, VIP Family Salon located in Columbiana, AL. Since then, she has owned and operated several other salons in Calera, Vincent, and Alabaster.

The ambitious Kimberly Cunningham decided to take her career in cosmetology to the next level. In 2011 she went back to school at South Eastern School of Cosmetology in Pelham, AL to pursue her Instructor’s license. After obtaining her Instructor’s license, she began working at Shelby County School of Technology as an aide in the Cosmetology department. During her tenure there, she was later promoted to classroom Instructor for the 1st year college and career students.

Kimberly eventually ventured out to explored other opportunities which included working at Virginia College of Birmingham as a Student Instructor. Unfortunately, the school closed down. At this time Kimberly applied to other schools to pursue her passion for teaching a skill that she loves.

After not being able to secure a position as an Instructor in other institutes, Kimberly believed that it was time to open her own school. She finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel and explored her faith.  July 2019 Dreamer’s School of Cosmetology was manifested. Kimberly is undoubtedly walking in faith and letting others know that if you are patient your dreams can come true.  Kimberly says that she wants to help others make their dreams come true by educating them on the basic knowledge and practical procedures to take and pass the Alabama Board of Cosmetology and Barbering exam.
