Our Natural Hair Care Specialist Program is designed to teach how to care for natural hair without the use of chemicals such as perms/relaxers and hair color. The style techniques include braiding, twisting, wrapping, extending, and locking natural hair. The coursework also includes teaching the proper health, safety, and sanitation procedures to avoid spreading infections. The students will be able to apply their skills to clients who visit the clinic. After successfully completing the course, the students will be able to sit for the Alabama State Board of Cosmetology & Barbering exam to become licensed Natural Hair Care Specialists.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Natural Hair Care is a service that results in tension on hair strands or roots by twisting, wrapping, extending, or locking hair by hand or mechanical device. For purposes of this definition phrase "natural hair care" shall include the use of artificial or natural hair. The Natural Hair Care training course consists of 210 hours of instruction in theory and practical performances.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
