The Manicure program of study is designed to provide the students with the skills to beautify the hands and feet, through shaping nails, conditioning the cuticle, the application of nail polish, the application of hands and feet massage, etc. It also includes the repairing of damaged or broken nails through wrapping or mending and the performing of the different kinds of Sculptured Nails with or without tips.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Manicuring, including trimming, filing, shaping, decorating, and arm and hand massage; Sculptured and other artificial nails; Pedicuring; Theory and salesmanship as it relates to manicuring. The procedures and methods of sanitation, disinfectant guidelines, Federal Environmental Protection Agency's and the Material Safety Data Sheets prepared by the manufacturers on all products used by the school's students in the live model performance. The study of bacteriology including communicable diseases and the requirements of The Pure Food and Drug Law for creams and lotions. Classroom work shall include lectures on the subject as well as demonstrations, questions and answers on textbooks, written examinations, and in-class practice of procedures and methods.

To prepare the students to work in a Beauty Salon as a professional Nail Technician.
